In 1987 during a trip in Spain , he felt very strongly the different intensities of light on everything. His palette will completely change thanks to new friendships, a new life, several stays in Provence and his perpetual quest for light In 1989 he left the school"Art & Nature" to spend all his time to his own creation.
From then on, for each creation , for instance still lives, portraits, genre paintings or landscapes, he did his best to sublimate light in order to give a greater emotional power.
If one asks to Jacques Malvestio to describe his quest, he will answer: "It's only in Nature that we find truth. After having studied works of Constable, of the school of Barbizon 1830, of the Impressionits, I am working the drawing, the composition, the colours, the picturial matter and I am always paying a detailed attention to the light; The light must transcend colours and matter to reveal the emotional power of a painting.
